LinkMaster is a NetObjects Fusion v4/5/MX/7 component which allows you
to create page-specific navigation elements for the Masterborder that contain
links related to the current page's position in the site, and other external links.
NetObjects Fusion's site management is a hierarchical tree - each page can
have parent, current level, and/or child links. LinkMaster lets you include
any, or all, of these sets of links in one object. It also lets you include
any other links (external or internal) using the NetObjects Fusion's link selector.
Other components let you select links one-by-one and display them in a Go-Menu.
LinkMaster goes two steps further. You can select groups of site related
links, and you have the option of displaying your links as a Go-Menu or in plain
text.
Other features of the LinkMaster include:
- Creating 'Bread-Crumbs' navigation - Links to parent pages trace the current
page all the way up to the top page in the site. You can use the parent page
link option to create a history list showing your users where they are on
your site and allowing them back up to the pages from which they came.
- Current page can be 'not linked' - Your users will easily know the page
they are on because it will be the link in the list that is not clickable.
This feature can be used effectively to create a clean navigation scheme between
current level pages.
- Links can be grouped and separated - LinkMaster lets you put section
breaks and section headings (text or graphic) between the parent, current
level, children, and fixed link groups. Also, the different groups can be
put in any order.
- Specify pages to ignore - Link management schemes often don't work out because
there are just some pages you don't want to include as hot links. With LinkMaster
all you have to do is put these pages in a list and they will not show up
on any page.
- Quickly change between text and Go-Menu. It's the same component for both
of these. A field in the properties box changes between them.
