In case you didn't hear the news...

On March 12th, NetObjects released Fusion MX, the newest version of their  flagship product. The biggest  feature introduced in this version is the Services View which provides news, updates and links to online http://club.coolmaps.com/images/mx250.jpgresources. This is the old Online View on steroids. Users will soon be able to integrate many cool hosted services (like counters,  polls, shopping carts and database applications) into their site in the same manner that they currently add text, graphics and components.

MX is new, so today there are only a few services available. But, all that is  going to change real soon. coolmaps.com, by far the leading component developer for Fusion 5.0 has signed a "full-on" official Letter of Intent with NetObjects to work together on creating many more useful, needs-driven services that will  make the task of building an exciting interactive website easy and painless.  This new Letter of Intent covers more than just integrating InForm,  CounterStrike, ClubPoll2, and SendLetter into the MX environment. It also  establishes a commitment to work on a suite of other services tailored  especially for Fusion users.

"coolmaps started as one of the first developers of extensions and components  for NetObjects Fusion, " said Samir Arora, chairman and CEO of  NetObjects. "We are very pleased to see the coolmaps-NetObjects relationship move to a deeper level with the signing of a Letter of Intent to work together  in bringing out the next generation of add-on services for the new NetObjects Fusion MX."

coolmaps.com is very excited about this new working relationship with  NetObjects. All CCC members should be excited as well. The 50+ components that coolmaps.com created for earlier versions of Fusion added key functionality for  keeping websites cool, up-to-date and easy to navigate. The services that will  be released soon will do even more.

Of course, the new Services View is not the only improvement in Fusion MX.  The folks at NetObjects want to make to be sure Fusion users know that the new  version has significant speed and stability improvements, auto-site recovery and optimization, and a cool new auto-update feature that will eliminate the need to  wait months for bug fixes. With the new new auto-updater, fixes can be done  overnight!

The auto-update feature will also allow Fusion to add coolmaps.com hosted  services as soon as they become available!
