Now
Entering Vector Sector
cont.
Your
new vector text is probaby a bit smaller then the original.
Drag the "handles" of the box surrounding the new text. This
allows to change (stretch) the size of the text without skewing
or pixelation. You can even rotate it! Try it!
Uh
oh.....you stretched text right along with that ellipse, huh?
Remember!...."UNDO is your friend". So, "undo" your stretch.
In the Layers Palette, there's a "plus" sign next to your
vector layer (layer #2). Click to open the vector layer. Now,
click on the layer that specifically says "Rentem Bigexecs
(it will go bold). Now you can stretch the text (only) all
you want. The KROW stretched the text until it's not quite
to the end of the original text, and about 30pixels higher.
Seeing
Double Isn't Trouble!
Now
that we've got some cool text on a path, we don't want it
messed up by the other stuff on the page. The original text
and the ellipse were for "guides" to help up place our new
text. We don't need them now (but we'll keep them just in
case Mr. Bigexec decides he wants the old version later).

Cool
KROW Clue
When creating custom graphics for a customer, it's an excellent
idea to save every version you send to the client! You never
know when they'll change their minds about something you did
previous, and you'll want to be able to provide them with
that "added service" of filling their requests (even if it
is an old one)!
In
your PSP Layers Palette, click on the "glasses" (remember
to "hide" something) of the "Ellipse" as well as the glasses
for Layer 1. Both the Ellipse and the old text should now
disappear. Next, RIGHT click on Layer 2. Select "Convert To
Raster". There should be nothing on your page but the new
text which is not selected. Now is also a good time to do
an SOS!
Time
For The Good Stuff!
Choose
the "Magic Wand" and click anywhere in the white area of the
image. In the menu choose "Selections", then "Invert", then
"Selections" again, and then "Float". Now, "Selections" one
more time, then "Matting" and then "Defringe" (by 2). Now
the image is all ready for the really cool stuff! In the menu,
choose "Image" then "Effects", then "Sculpture". A whole new
pop-up window comes up...

Take
some time and change any of the options until you get an "effect"
you like. The KROW chose:
- Preset:
Custom
- Pattern:
Number 4
- Image:
77, 20, 33, 56
The
rest is set to Default. Then Click "OK".
Now,
let's lighten the text a bit. This will help sharpen our image
for our Drop Shadow (Drop Shadow
Refresher here!).
In
menu, click "Colors", then "Adjust", then ""Brightness/Contrast".
Set the Brightness to 45, and the Contrast to -9 and click
"OK". Now, go in and do a Drop Shadow. When done, you should
have something close to what The KROW has.....

Do
an easy SOS. Click the "Save" button. Since you already have
your .psp format in place for this image, that's a quick way
to save the current work you've done to the image!
