JASC Quick View Plus review cont.

“Yeah.....RI-I-I-I-I-GHT”

I know it’s hard to believe, but imagine this:

Old Mac’s son, Mick, owns a zoo, which is “funded” by Old Mac. Mick just bought a new tiger for the zoo and needs to report the purchase to Old Mac. Mick emails Old Mac a picture of the tiger, a typed review of the tiger’s eating habits, and a spreadsheet of the costs of keeping the tiger at the zoo.

Now, Old Mac is pretty good at working his email and opening his Corel WordPerfect to read a letter. But, he’s no “digital engineer” so he has no graphics program to see the picture. And Miss Mary does all his accounting, so he has no Excel to read the spreadsheet, and the only “zip” he knows is on his overalls! Poor Old Mac needs help!

Well, it’s a good thing Old Mac has his Quick View Plus! So, let’s just see how he was able to view all those different files:

In Quick View Plus, Old Mac browses (in the bottom, left pane) to the zip file Mick sent him and clicks on it. In the top, right pane, is a list of all the files which are in the zip file. Next Old Mac clicks on the Corel Wordperfect (.wpd) file, and he is now viewing it in the bottom, right (largest) pane.

Now, Old Mac wants to see that spreadsheet of the cost of the tiger. So, he clicks on the Excel file (in the top, right window again) and is able to view it there on the bottom! But, now he wants to see both at the same time! So he double-clicks on the Excel file, and it opens another pane. Old Mac is now viewing 2 files from inside the zip file...all within his Quick View Plus!

Happy with everything he sees, Old Mac can now print any of the files he wants and save them for later use. He can launch his WordPerfect from Quick View Plus, edit and save a new letter, and then zip up the new file, with all the old ones in a new zip, and email them to Miss Mary.....all from his Quick View Plus!

Proud of himself, Old Mac has decided to go out for dinner with Miss Mary. And why not? With his Quick View Plus, Old Mac not only just saved himself a lot of time working at his computer, but a lot of money as well, by not having to buy more software to see all the different files he has!

Remember that looking glass? Well, with just the few features I’ve mentioned here, surely you can “see” something special about it.......
