tomorrow's fusion today

Working on the web does it you! Week after week of long hours, impossible deadlines, bad coffee and crazy clients. Sometimes you need to sit back and do something that is just plain fun...

Our mission was simple - to find a victim with suitable MOJO and using SuperGOO turn them into something GOOVIE BABY YEAH!

After searching all corners of the earth we found him in our own Santa Barbara orifice - meet Tal, he's our victim for today. Say Hi Tal!

meet tal, the morning coffee should kick in just about... NOW!

We loaded Tal's image from our digital camera into Photoshop and cropped it tight to a square and saved it out as a .bmp file.

Above is Tal's image loaded into SuperGOO. Cool interface huh!

SuperGOO's biggest improvement over the original GOO are the controls for brush size and brush flow (the two funny controls on the right of Tal). We'll explore the interface as we work on Tal's head... It's time to get down and be goo'd, real goo'd! goo to page 2

The History of GOO:
GOO was originally developed by MetaTools, the company founded by the legendary Kai (of Kai's Power Tools fame). It was a revolutionary product in that it was made to be fun to use, and brought real time liquid image manipulation to the masses.

MetaTools merged with Fractal to become MetaCreations. SuperGOO was then released, replacing the original GOO with some added functionality.

SuperGOO and several other MetaCreation's products were recently sold to ScanSoft. The GOO engine remains at MetaCreations which recently released KPTX GOO - a Photoshop plugin. Check out some amazing KPTX GOO work here.
