is the second lesson in a series of Photoshop tutorials intended
for beginning to intermediate users. In the first
lesson
we created shape shown in Fig. 1 in our goal to create Fig.

Now
we will add another layer to the bezel created in Lesson One
to give it depth. Create another circle, exactly the same
as the original circle you made for the bezel, with the aid
of the guides. You may want to make sure that 'Snap to Guides'
is selected in the 'View' menu. Create a new layer (CTRL+SHIFT+N),
right-click in the circle and select 'Stroke'. (If 'Stroke'
isn't available, you need to select either the rectangle
or elliptical selection tool.) In the Stroke dialogue box,
set the number of pixels to whatever makes you happy (I used
two), and make sure to check the 'Inside' radio button. Hit
OK. You should now have a circle on top of your bezel. Now
select the polygonal lasso tool (located under the standard
selection tools on the toolbar). The goal is to create the
area marked in red in Fig. 3.
