PhotoShop Tutorial
Photoshop QuickNav :

Time to finish the watch! The first thing we are going to do is make the logo for Skagen (pronounced Sky-yen in Danish). You will need to zoom in to about 1200% to do this. Make a new layer, and then use the rectangular selection tool to create a rectangle that is nine pixels high and 14 pixels wide. Use the line tool to draw an X from one corner of the rectangle to the other. The logo has two little arrows pointing into the X (Fig. 1), make these using the line tool. They are two pixels wide and three high.

Next we make the text. Select the type tool from the toolbar on the right and click somewhere under the spot where you just put the logo. Select ‘Verdana’ as your font, set the point size to 8, and set the anti-alias to ‘Crisp’. Then enter “SKAGEN” in all caps and hit the ‘OK’ button. Use the multi-directional tool (upper right corner of the toolbar) and the arrow keys to ‘nudge’ the text into place under the logo.

Now use the text tool again and click under and just to the left of “SKAGEN”. Set the point size to 6 and the font to Verdana. Enter “swiss” in all lowercase letters. DO NOT HIT OK YET. Highlight the word “swiss” and you will notice that you can now enter information into the ‘tracking’ box. Enter 700 and you should notice that the letters spread out under the Skagen logo. Hit ‘OK’ to return to the canvas. Use the multi-directional tool and the arrows to nudge the text into place (Fig. 2).
