Why
did you get on the web?
I was kind of a slow starter; it took about a year, but I
succumbed to a complete obsession with it after trying to
find something better than the local bulletin boards in the
Fall of 1994. I didn't start from the graphic side, but rather
the programming side, after I finished exploring the wild
territory! I got my first domain in early '97 and never looked
back.
What
services do you offer? I work for a non-profit healthcare
I/S, and I'm also able to work for small businesses & individuals
in the community with their website needs. Where I'm strictly
graphics (Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Painter, etc.),
for the most part, at work, as a freelancing webdesigner/developer
I'm able to help them with all of their needs, from flanking
out the whole site, to sweetening the graphics and incorporating
the programming they need (feedback, javascript, etc.). I
have been able to find just about every programming piece
I need on the web and almost always for free. Mainly, I visit
Matthew Wright's site for cgi & perl: www.worldwidemart.com/scripts,
and Dynamic Drive for javascript: www.dynamicdrive.com.
Increasingly,
I have been using NetObjects Fusion to flank out the site
initially, and then when I'm happy with the outcome, I visit
it from within Dreamweaver 2.0 to add customizing items. I'm
looking forward to increasing my fluency with NOF.

What
you like most about the web?
It always teaches me something!
What
you like least about the web?
I think the domain-issuing organization should be administered
by a corporation (which should go/should have gone public!),
not a governmental agency; and I'd also like to see an accounting
of where all the money's gone that's been spent on domain
name registration and renewal! Okay, I'm off my soapbox now.
What
for you is the most useful web technology?
Online Learning sites. They're worth their weight in gold.
My favorites are Useractive
and ZDU.com.
Why
do you use Fusion?
It's a complete turnkey way to incubate the whole website!
Smart, versatile, packed with options, components, templates
and sitestyles. I want to learn to do much more with it! I'm
drafting a new version of the BenandJim.com site at BenandJim
that I used NOF to create and Photoshop & Imageready to customize.
Also used Dreamweaver to tuck things in to where I want them
to be.
Your
five favorite web sites?
Drudgereport.com,
Coolmaps, Ozones.com,
Lileks.com,
and of course WindowShopper.com
(due for a redesign!)

Do
you think the web will change the world?
The web is like a deep-tissue, full-body radio experience.
It's one person "listening," perceiving all on their own,
and they have as much choice about where to go next with their
"tuner" - the web plays to 'one' person.
Just
like radio is heard by 'one' person and television is viewed
by 'one' person - it's the factor of that one person being
able to 'broadcast back' that makes the reverberating difference
between radio and web. Every person, in fact, can have their
own "radio station." It's highly inclusive and the biggest
frontier by far, so far.
What
do you do for fun?
I juggle! I've been working my way up to the clubs for
years. So far, for the past 8 years, it's just been balls.
I also go to school 3/4 time. I like to read, and something
I haven't been able to do for some time is get back into theater.
I love plays and group improvisation. Acting is a true blast.
I would have to say Improv is my biggest love, though.
I
really like the NetObjects Fusion support team. It's worldwide
and I first noticed it last Spring when I signed up for a
membership; I had some questions and they were answered post-haste!
One gentleman in Australia with Magic Pixel was extremely
helpful - it's one of the great things about NOF. Now, I just
need to buy some time to sit down with it!
Thanks
Angela.
