Why did you get on the web?
I quit my previous job. I developed a franchise program for my employer, grew it from 0 to 500 outlets and hit the glass ceiling. I was naïve enough to think I would naturally be able to take over and run the business. The problem was it wasn’t my business.

I had already started 2 websites (1998) that were both growing tremendously in traffic. My background in Marketing and passion for entrepreneuring took me into web development full time.

What services do you offer?
We are a soup to nuts shop. We provide top tier solutions at a small business price. Fusion’s speed allows us to do this. We offer web design, hosting, database programming (Access), asp services, and ecommerce through 3rd party vendors. We have also developed an easy to use password protection service for webmasters called filelok.com.

Our best clients opt for a full consulting role. Those who begin to see the importance/results of their website take us in with a flat rate monthly consulting contract. We offer a proactive approach which includes quarterly analysis of their web activity and suggested changes to their website. With a deeper relationship with this client we often can work independently of their input to continually improve the effectiveness of their site. We act on the small things and bring the bigger issues to the table way before the client would see them. We try to set up a partnership type of relationship with them so they don’t have to go out and hire in expensive people to deal with their websites.

What you like most about the web?
Instant info. Discussion forums. Ecommerce. eBay. Updated websites. Email. The fact that most clients really don’t understand the web :)

What you like least about the web?
Misused flash animation for splash pages... remember animated gif abuse?

Why do you use Fusion?
Ease and speed. I have to be able to train employees to use a tool quickly. Fusion is it. Billing. We bill by the hour. We don’t want to spend loads of time making simple changes and have to charge our clients enormously. Otherwise they would go elsewhere.

Do you think the web will change the world?
It already has. We communicate faster and easier now. The human interaction will always exist since we live in a world based on trust. Only a face to face can instill trust. Once you have established trust with someone you can use speedy web tools to continue communicating.

What do you do for fun?
Winter: Squash, Skiing
Summer: Ultimate Frisbee, Tennis
Year round: Movies & MMORPGs

Thanks Peter!
