Title: Moyra's Web Jewels
Web Adress: http://moyra.com/jewels

What
services do you offer?
I
am a digital artist, entirely self taught in the digital medium
but with Fine Arts training as a painter in traditional media.
My specialties are digital illustration and interfaces, but
I create everything from logos to web site layouts and graphics.
If
there are pixels involved, I have done it and would love to
repeat the experience.
This
includes entire online areas for America Online, illustrations
for nation-wide ad campaigns, book and cd covers, corporate
identity design, interfaces for programs and for the Web and
countless gigabytes of graphics for web sites.
What do you like most about the web?
As
an artist, I am completely enamored of the visual possibilities
of the Web.
As
an avid reader, I love the incredible amounts of information
that are available.
As
a being, I love the sharing, on every and any level.
What you like least about the web?
Possibly,
what I love the most and what I dislike the most are the same.
I
find myself continually delighting in the incredible and as
yet largely untapped potential for this medium that will,
eventually, completely redefine the term "multimedia".
However,
at the present time, the web is still very much in the thrall
of the paradigms that worked for print design since Guttenberg.
Fortunately, I believe that this is changing as new technologies
open new frontiers in the possible.
What for you is the most useful web technology?
Because I am somewhat of an idiot savant as regards technology
- all I can really say I know well are graphics applications
- I would not embarass myself by speaking on the matter of
technology and the web. I never pretend to be anything but
a graphics and design geekette who is overjoyed to leave the
erudite investigations and elegant hand codings of dynamic
html, cgi, asp and other such useful behind-the-scenes necessities
to other kinds of geeks.
I
suppose the most exciting development for me, as an artist
who's office is the Web, has been the interactive and visual
potential of Javascript. These days, its part of almost every
single project I am involved with and (shameless but grateful
plug ahead) without Coolmaps Rollover, "javascript" would
not be a part of my design vocabulary.
