Title: Moyra's Web Jewels
Web Adress: http://moyra.com/jewels

Why
do you use Fusion?
I am not an HTML person. I figured this out after creating
my first web site in 1996. Its not "Hyper Text Markup Language"
to me. Its a constant tedious battle to get the code to fit
my vision of the finished pages.
Without
NetObjects Fusion, I would have long ago given up the fight
to make what is seen in the browser pages look like my sketches
- and yes, I sketch all my layouts.
From
the very first time I opened up NetObjects - version one,
back in 1996 - I couldn't believe how easy it was to organize
and lay out attractive pages any way I pictured them in my
imagination.
Honestly,
and without exaggeration, my life would not be what it is
without NetObjects Fusion. I would simply not exist on the
Web, and I would probably be working for a corporation, wearing
a suit and stifling under the artistic constraints of pushing
grey and navy pixels and attending endless meetings. Instead,
I work for myself doing what I love, and stay incredibly busy.
The
three most indispensable programs I have, without which I
simply could not survive - literally, since I do this for
a living - are Adobe Photoshop, Metacreations Painter and
NetObjects Fusion.
I use it because it is the absolute best web site creation
program I have ever found. And yes, I have demo'd the "others".
Your five favorite web sites?
For
different reasons, and at different times:
Fischer
West (
http://www.fischer.com.au )
The art, the inventiveness. The man is simply said, one of
my Internet Art Gods.
i-us
(http://www.i-us.com)
The most informative and content rich online community for
digital artists
Web
Monkey (http://www.hotwired.com/webmonkey)
The best collection of how-to guides for designers on the
web.
DHTML
Guru (http://www.htmlguru.com)
Its the only web site I keep going back to because I would
like to learn how to make a site as visually engaging as this
one. Its not just a tutorial site - its an experience. (note
to self: learn how to use actions in NetObjects Fusion)
THE
WEB DESIGN CLINIC (http://www.webdesignclinic.com)
Hand picked resources for web page builders and a
wonderful E-Zine. And I don't say this because I occasionally
contribute graphics tutorials to the E-Zine- the Web Design
Clinic actually *is* one of my most used web resources.
Will
the world go crazy on jan 01 00? ;-)
The
world goes crazy every day. I hope it will go even crazier
on that day, it being the first of a new century and all.
As to the world as we know it ending due to monster computer
disasters and so forth, I doubt it. In any case, most people
will be too hung over and tired from New year's parties to
even notice. Myself included. Unless, of course, NetObjects
Fusion, Photoshop and Painter are not Y2K compatible. Then
I WILL go crazy.
Thank
you Moyra! You are one of the web's true jewels!
