RoboText Tutorial

RoboText options

Text Input, the first option on the Properties Palette lets you choose how you would like to provide the text.

Your choices are:

  • Palette, if you choose to type in all the messages on
the RoboText Properties palette. You simply provide
the # of Messages, and type each message in the
       Message # box provided.
  • File, if you choose for RoboText to use text
from a file. In File Name you locate the directory and
identify the file. The text file should be a plain text file.
Messages should be separated by a carriage return.
Each line will be one message.

Display Type, choose either a Textarea or a Text Field for displaying the messages.

The next two options on the RoboText Properties palette determine the size of the text box.
  • Width (Columns): The number you enter here
represents the width (in characters) of the text box.
  • Height (Rows): Choose the number of rows high you
would like the text box to be. This option is available
for the Display Type of Textarea only.

The last entry in the palette that you need to provide is Timer. The number you enter determines the length of time each text message will appear on the screen. The unit of measurement is milli-seconds. So if you enter 1000, then each message will appear for 1 second.
